Rapper Wiz Khalifa, also known as “Black and Yellow” Cameron Jibril Thomaz, paid $3.4 million to purchase an ultra-modern home in the Encino neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley. Prior to that, the artist had lived for almost three years in a $16,000 per month rental in Los Angeles.
While he still owns this house and one in Pittsburgh, the city of his birth, Khalifa just paid little more than $7.6 million to relocate to a second opulent mansion approximately three miles away.
As of right now, it’s unclear if he has already furnished the house with the amenities he wants, which include, among other things, a recording studio, a game room themed after the Steelers, and a marijuana bar.
With an estimated net worth of $60 million, derived from his successful music career, his specially developed marijuana strain, Khalifa Kush, and his mobile app Weed Farm, which lets players cultivate and tend to virtual crops, he can definitely afford to add anything he wants.
Built this year, Khalifa’s modern farmhouse-style home features more than 8,000 square feet of open-concept living space with blonde hardwood flooring, wood-beam ceilings, and designer lighting fixtures. A movie theater, home office, workout center, and detached guesthouse are just a few of the many features.
The two-story stucco and wood structure is ideal for the singer’s mostly vintage car collection, which includes, according to Architectural Digest, a Mercedes Benz, a 1969 El Camino, a Chevelle, muscle cars, and a Chevelle. It also features three adjacent parking spaces and a spacious motor court in front.
A double-height lobby is accessible through a glass front entry covered by a porte-cochere. From there, you can access the opulent living room with its gorgeous linear fireplace, the formal dining room with its wet bar, and the sliding glass doors leading to the backyard.
Adjacent to the family room is a state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen featuring a center island, Thermador appliances, a service bar with dual-sided seating, and a breakfast nook.
Upstairs is the opulent master suite, complete with two showroom-style closets, a mini-bar, and a sitting area beside the fireplace. There is an amazing glass-lined stairway leading up to it. The spa-inspired bathroom features two vanities, an oval soaking tub, a large glass-enclosed shower, and a separate balcony.
The nearly half-acre of grounds contain an outdoor kitchen with built-in BBQ and bar, an outdoor eating area with trellises, a basketball court, a covered lounge terrace with fire pit, and a Baja-shelf pool and spa. There’s also a 450-square-foot guesthouse with a shower and kitchenette.
