Former Los Angeles Rams great cornerback Jalen Ramsey put his Hidden Hills property on the market for $14 million as he traveled to Miami to cover and defend for the Dolphins. The listing is held by Compass’ Lee Mintz.
The 28-year-old Super Bowl LVI champion, who was the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history and earned more than $25 million yearly, bought the modern farmhouse-style mansion in late 2020 for $9.5 million.
The interior of the house, which has seven bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms and is spread across about 10,000 square feet on three floors, has not seen many changes. But the 1.14-acre grounds were greatly enhanced by the installation of magnificent formal terraced gardens that climb the slope behind the house, the expansion of a swimming pavilion, and a sports court.
The house will be finished in 2020 and have all the modern conveniences and opulent extras you’d expect from a recently built mansion in one of L.A.’s most upscale, pricey, and celebrity-filled districts. The audio-visual, security, and lighting systems are all controlled by a smart home system. Rooms on the main floor flow into one another without interruption, and a variety of elegant materials, including Calacatta marble and European white oak, are used.
With a private seating space, two walk-in closets, and a double-sided fireplace, the master bedroom goes above and beyond. A balcony in the marble-clad leisure bath offers a clear view of the immaculately kept gardens.
The finished basement now resembles a five-star leisure suite rather than the gloomy imitation wood-paneled amusement rooms of the 1970s. A large salon has a wet bar and a wine room with climate control, and a wall of windows opens to a sunken terrace with a freestanding sauna box. A modern theater, a gym, and a glass-enclosed office are also present.
During the sweltering summer, the covered patio, which has a built-in BBQ, is the perfect shady spot to observe the lush and grassy backyard. The terraced gardens that slope behind the pool and sports court are surrounded by faux-grass patios and expertly manicured plants. A black-tiled zero-edge spa flows into a swimming pool. There are several perches that gaze out over the pool and the nearby treetops that are positioned among the expertly trimmed flora.
Despite the loss of an NFL superstar, Hidden Hills continues to be home to a who’s who of successful businesspeople and other affluent people, including Madonna, whose home was purchased from The Weeknd and is currently on the market for $23.5 million, Nicki Minaj, Jessica Simpson, Will and Jada Smith, Lori Loughlin, Sylvester Stallone, who is trying to sell his home for $21.3 million, and a number of Kardashians.
