Travis Kelce, who is a “Love Story” in his own right, has just given his approval.
The 34-year-old tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and his team celebrated their Super Bowl victory in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Although his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was unable to attend the celebration in person, she was present in spirit.
As “Love Story” by Swift, 34, plays in the XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas, where the team was celebrating, Kelce can be seen in a video being animated. In the interim, Marshmello emerged from his DJ booth atop Kelce and a number of other Chiefs members to the accompaniment of the crowd as they enthusiastically sang Swift’s 2008 single. Kelce held a towel and a water bottle in one hand as he pumped his fists in time with the rhythm and then leapt to his feet during the chorus. In addition to Swift’s widely recognized composition, the Chiefs dutifully followed Queen’s “We Are The Champions” while quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes stood center stage, rejoicing with his teammates in their triumph.
Two weeks prior to the Chiefs’ most recent celebration, a comparable occasion was documented in Las Vegas, where Kelce was personally accompanied by his fiancée. As on Saturday evening, Marshmello was present at the XS Nightclub after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers for a joint celebration. Marshmello was operating the DJ booth during the event, where “Love Story” was playing. Videos of Swift and Kelce sharing an endearing moment while swaying and singing the lyrics of her song surfaced on X (previously Twitter), as documented by Swift enthusiasts.
In one recording, they pointed at one another while seductively reciting the lyrics of the song, which included “You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess,” from a remix. Kelce, having claimed each of the royal characters in the song, leaned in for a peck. Although she was donning her significant other’s iridescent Amiri jacket, the singer complied by embracing the NFL player in her arms. In an additional club-enclosed video, the couple danced to the same song and, once more, sealed the adorable moment with a smooch, adding gasoline to the rom-com couple comparisons. That evening, music beyond Swift’s “Love Story” was performed. Kelce was observed in another video seeking for Swift in the crowd as he sang “You Belong with Me,” which was also featured on Fearless. Kelce was heard singing along to the lyrics, “Why can’t you see you belong with me?” Swift reciprocated the affection after locating his girlfriend in the audience by indicating Kelce in the booth as she sang along to the infectious chorus.
Swift, who performed her third engagement in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday, has since left the United States. At the commencement of her Australian leg of the Eras Tour, Kelce, along with her father, Scott Swift, Katy Perry, and Rita Ora, was present to demonstrate his support by enjoying the performance from the VIP booth. As he saw the performance for the third time, the athlete was observed dancing and chanting along to her consecutive singles. (In November, he paid her a visit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and in July, he first witnessed the performance in Kansas City.)
A endearing video of the couple kissing was uploaded to X following the performance. Kelce was observed patiently awaiting his significant other while waving to the audience and then enveloping him in her arms and depositing a peck on his lips. Following this, the couple walked away together to the applause of the crowd.
