We couldn’t be happier that the renowned Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco has introduced a new concept for a 377-foot mega yacht dubbed Tuhura. This extraordinary concept was conceived in collaboration with Lobanov Design Studio, interior designer Achille Salvagni, and BMT Nigel Gee. Its exterior design is reminiscent of the canoes used by indigenous people centuries ago.

Oceanco’s primary inspiration for this vessel was East Asia and the Pacific’s exotic islands, as is evident from a closer inspection of the vessel’s luxurious interiors. An environment composed of burnished teak, gunmetal, and natural bronze is the ideal complement to Lobanov’s imposing exterior.

BMT was responsible for the yacht’s sleek hull and propulsion system, while the yacht’s simple and ultra-efficient canoe-like form should provide minimal resistance and excellent maneuverability.

This superyacht may be the finest example of how the modest elegance and sensuality of organic forms continue to have great aesthetic value in the twenty-first century. Multiple horizontal windows were envisioned for the hull, with advanced glass technologies allowing passengers to experience privacy while savoring the breathtaking views of the ocean from within.

The yacht’s imposing black superstructure is comprised of flat glass panels, but that’s only part of its extraordinary appeal. Oceanco and its partners will likely outfit this vessel with cutting-edge technology, making it one of the most extraordinary superyachts you’ve ever seen.
