The “natural and architectural richness of the Mediterranean” served as the inspiration for the 55-meter catamaran concept that Italian design company Hydro Tec unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show this year.
A bow-to-stern arch, flowing lines, and a “floating” superstructure that “meanders and parts like a river around the discrete wheelhouse” are the yacht’s defining features.
Prior to starting Hydro Tec, I devoted a portion of my professional life to creating quick catamarans. Sergio Cutolo, the creator and president of Hydro Tec, stated, “I have always seen this type of vessel as a stimulating challenge, pushing me to think unconventionally.” “Multihulls, in general, offer fascinating architectural insights, closely approaching the spatial layout typical of residences, as well as presenting interesting technical complexities.”
The décor, which combines vibrant color splashes, “organic materials,” and rustic shapes and textures, is Mediterranean-inspired and gives the spaces a light and airy atmosphere thanks to full-height windows. The owner’s cabin is 90 square meters in size, taking almost the whole width of the boat. It features a Jacuzzi and a private terrace. The 90 square meter workout and spa facility located behind the cabin can also be used as an additional cabin with an aft facing orientation.
