Max Zhivov Unveils the Cutting-Edge 49m VTOL-Controlled Superyacht Concept

Max Zhivov has unveiled renderings of a 48.7-meter superyacht concept that is commanded by a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

Gravity was designed in collaboration with Astron Engineering as a “multifunctional yacht that combines the styling of a superyacht and a house,” according to Zhivov. A sophisticated autopilot system allows the vessel to autonomously follow the VTOL aircraft over short distances and operate via remote control.

Modern in appearance, the wedge-shaped vessel features a swim platform and spa pool flush with the main deck, while the sundeck serves as an aircraft landing pad. A living space amidship is encased in glass, with movable 3D-printed walls intended for the interior.

According to Zhivov, the initiative was inspired by speculations about what “water recreation in the future could look like,” with a focus on the tourism industry.

With the “following” feature, the VTOL can be utilized to effortlessly explore the surrounding area and disembark when nearing land.
