Congratulations: Linkin Park Achieves Chart Success with First New Album Since Chester’s Passing
Since the deаth of lead vocalist and leader Chester Bennington in 2017, Linkin Park’s future has been clouded in uncertainty. The group has remained rather quiet in the years since his deаth. With their first new album to chart in six years, they are making a triumphant comeback to Billboard’s top ten.
Linkin Park’s Lost Demos, an album comprising, you guessed it, demos and completely completed songs from the band’s Meteora period, returned to the Billboard rankings this week. Before Record Store Day, the title was exclusive to the album’s deluxe edition box set. However, the rockers re-released it on vinyl, and their devoted fan base eagerly raced to buy it.
In the previous tracking cycle, Lost Demos sold 8,500 copies, as reported by Luminate. Since it was just released on the increasingly popular format not long ago, it seems that the majority of that total came from vinyl sales.
With a narrow escape, the album and EP make it into the Billboard 200, a weekly list of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the US. With Lost Demos, Linkin Park had their sixteenth top 40 Һit, debuting at No. 191 on the 200-spot tally.
In addition to the Top Album Sales list, the Vinyl Albums chart also include the new offering. It gives the band their sixteenth position on the former, where it stands at No. 26. This time around, Linkin Park comes in at number three for loftiest debut, behind only Busta Rhymes and The Doors.
