Coby White is establishing himself in Chicago one month following the signing of a new contract with the Chicago Bulls.
Monday’s closing of a deal involving the NBA point guard and a residence on North Cleveland Avenue is anticipated, per a source with knowledge of the transaction.
The 7,000-square-foot residence was listed for $5.1 million and features six bedrooms and seven restrooms. Uncertain is whether the property will be sold for its listing price, more than it, or less than it.
It appears that a trust affiliated with Rajeev Rathi, the proprietor of Rathi Private Wealth Management Group at Merrill Lynch, owns the 2017-built residence. The land was acquired by the trust for $1.5 million in 2014.
The listing is being represented by Carrie McCormick, a broker at Christie’s International Real Estate @properties. She declined to comment in response to a request. CAA Sports, the agency that represented White, did not respond to a request for comment.
In the same block of Cleveland as White’s new residence, another expensive listing demonstrates how desirable Lincoln Park has become since property values skyrocketed due to the pandemic. At @properties Christie’s agent Emily Sachs Wong is offering for sale for $4.9 million a Cleveland Avenue residence measuring 6,800 square feet and featuring six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
An additional notable purchaser of upscale residences is interested in a transaction one block west on coveted Mohawk Street: the former residence of Anne Dias, the ex-wife of billionaire Ken Griffin, philanthropist, investor, and financier, is listed for $8.2 million.
A month after the point guard signed a new three-year, $40 million contract with the Bulls, White made the acquisition.
