Page Six has learned that over the holidays, Taylor Swift and her new Kansas City girl squad enjoyed some delectable comfort cuisine from the Midwest.
According to an exclusive account provided by Megan Garrelts, co-owner of Rye restaurant in Leawood, Kansas, the pop superstar was accompanied by approximately eight women on December 30. These women were all spouses or companions of Chiefs players, including Brittany Mahomes, the wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“Over the years, we have had a history of serving [the Chiefs],” Garrelts explains, adding that Travis Kelce, the boyfriend of Swift, also visits their locations in Leawood and Kansas City, Missouri.
His visits to both are quite frequent. He’s outstanding. “He is beyond kind,” she exclaims.
“Hi, he enjoys greeting patrons in the restaurant… Although he has been a bit more private recently (sitting in the private room), he typically dines with his caretakers and companions in the main dining room. “He’s superb.”
.
Garrelts reveals to Page Six that she and her husband, co-owner Colby Garrelts, were informed that a notable individual would be dining at Rye prior to Swift’s first visit; however, they were not informed that it would be the 12-time Grammy winner.
Swift, 34, arrived at approximately 7:30 p.m. local time, whereupon a group of friends, her security team, and Colby greeted her at a private entrance, where they extended handshakes to the “Cruel Summer” singer.
Megan further states that Swift and her companions were escorted to a private room, away from the view of other diners, where the “Shake It Off” singer dined. “She was extremely, extremely pleasant.”
.
“Because of the nature of having a high-profile guest, we endeavor to maintain a low profile out of privacy considerations,” the proprietor explains. “Sincerely nobody knew she was there.”
Swift indulged in some of the most delectable items on the Rye menu without objecting to the style-conscious Hollywood diner’s diet.
As appetizers, the group reportedly ordered goat cheese and a cheese platter; Swift, however, selected a delectable plate of pasta instead of the salmon that the majority of the women ordered for their entree.
Additionally, the “Bad Blood” singer requested a French Blonde, which Megan clarifies: “From what we understand, that is her preferred cocktail.”
“Everyone had a cocktail, so it was certainly a lively girls’ night, which was entertaining to observe,” the co-owner further states.
Swift’s request to use the restroom in the main dining room rather than the one designated for the private room occurred at one point during the meal, thereby signaling the presence of the “Look What You Made Me Do” vocalist and informing the other patrons.
