On Wednesday night, the New York Knicks defeated the Chicago Bulls 116-100. Jalen Brunson added 31 points and 13 assists, while Julius Randle had 35.
Donte DiVincenzo and OG Anunoby both contributed 11 points for New York, while Isaiah Hartenstein recorded a career-high 20 rebounds in addition to his 10 points.
DeMar DeRozan led Chicago with 28 points. Colby White accumulated 26.
Two of their four highest-scoring opponents remain sidelinesd for the Bulls. Due to a strained left adductor, Nikola Vucevic has missed his fifth consecutive game. Zach LaVine, who has been sidelined since November 28, is afflicted with inflammation in his right foot.
A little over two minutes into the half, Chicago took its largest advantage of the game, 54-44, on a three-pointer by Alex Caruso. The Knicks pulled within 55-51 at intermission on a late surge; to reclaim the lead, New York opened the second half on an 8-2 run.
Throughout the third quarter, the Knicks extended their lead to eight points on multiple occasions before taking an 86-78 lead into the fourth. On DeRozan’s 3-pointer, the Bulls closed to within one at 90-89, but a New York run of 9-2 extended the lead to eight.
The Knicks, who maintained a six-point lead at 101-95, tallied the final eleven points to seal the deal.
