DeMar DeRozan Shines as Chicago Bulls Dominate Los Angeles Lakers with a 124-108 Victory

On Wednesday night, DeMar DeRozan led the Chicago Bulls to a 124-108 victory over LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. DeRozan also contributed seven rebounds and nine assists.

Chicago’s field goal percentage was 54.5%, and eight players recorded double-digit scores. 14 points were added by reserve Ayo Dosunmu to Coby White’s 17. Nikola Vucevic recorded his sixteenth double-double of the season with thirteen points and ten rebounds.

Notwithstanding the ongoing absence of All-Star guard Zach LaVine due to inflammation in his right foot, the Chicago Bulls earned their third victory in four games to begin a six-game homestand. Additionally, they performed without forward Torrey Craig, whose potential 10-week absence was announced on Tuesday due to a right plantar fascia injury.

With 25 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, James came close to recording his second consecutive triple-double for Los Angeles. In his homeland, Anthony Davis recorded 19 points and 14 rebounds.

Four of five games have passed the Lakers since they won the NBA In-Season Tournament.

Los Angeles, which trailed by as many as 18 points in the second half, mounted multiple comebacks to reduce the deficit to two by the midpoint of the third quarter, but was unable to surpass DeRozan and Chicago.

The Chicago Cardinals have produced their most effective stretch of perimeter shooting of the season since losing the sharpshooting LaVine. Following their successful 18-of-34 3-point attempts against the Lakers, the Bulls have surpassed the 14-point mark per game on a season-long average in their previous ten games, which would place them in the top ten of the NBA.

Although James contributed to or scored on the first nine points scored by the Lakers, the Bulls took an early 48-30 lead in the second quarter on the strength of effective outside shooting. Although both defenses entered the game with one of the worst 3-pointer allowances in the league, it was the Bulls who achieved the most success from beyond the arc. Four Bulls, including Alex Caruso, who recorded 15 points, nailed three or more three-pointers.

A Vucevic corner kick assisted in the Bulls’ 61-55 halftime lead. After the first two minutes of the first quarter, the Bulls maintained a perfect record, and in the final minutes of play, both teams depleted their reserve personnel.
