The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Chicago Bulls 133-129 in overtime on Monday night, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 11 rebounds and 32 points.
The Bucks, who had just been defeated 128-119 by Indiana in the In-Season Tournament semifinals, received 19 points each from Brook Lopez, Malik Beasley, and Bobby Portis, who added 17.
Coby White contributed 33 points and DeMar DeRozan contributed 41 for Chicago, which had won four consecutive games.
In overtime, Chicago led 119-118 on the second of two free throws made by Torrey Craig. However, the Bucks responded with seven consecutive points, crowned by a layup by Antetokounmpo with two minutes remaining that brought the score to 126-119.
Milwaukee failed to secure a victory by failing to make three of six free throws. DeRozan extended Chicago’s lead to 131-129 with 12 seconds remaining via a jumper. Damian Lillard extended the lead to 133-129 with two free throws in the remaining 10.2 seconds.
DeRozan forced overtime by tying the game at 118 with four seconds remaining in regulation via a floater from the basket. Prior to that, Lillard converted one of two free throws with 12 seconds remaining to give Milwaukee a 118-116 lead.
With 1:11 remaining, Antetokounmpo made two free throws to give the Bucks a 117-112 lead. Patrick Williams responded with a dunk, and DeRozan closed the gap to 117-116 with two free throws.
At the conclusion of the third quarter, Chicago, which trailed 74-65 at halftime, closed the gap to 91-89 on Jevon Carter’s three-pointer.
In the first half, the Bucks had a 57.8% shooting percentage. Milwaukee made 26 of 45 field goal attempts, with 12 of 20 coming from beyond the arc.
