Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park Expresses Views on Chester Bennington Hologram Performance: Deeming it ‘Creeρy

Despite advancements in technology that have significantly improved the quality of hologram tours—including appearances by late luminaries such as Tupac and Amy Winehouse—certain existential elements of these showcases continue to repudiate a significant number of musicians. Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park most recently ruled out the possibility of performing alongside a hologram of the band’s deceased vocalist Chester Bennington, who committed suicide in 2017.

After a radio presenter stated she would pay “good money” to see a Bennington hologram, Shinoda stated he had no interest in the subject while speaking with 94.5 The Buzz.

“Those are quite unsettling,” he interjected. “Even in the absence of discussions regarding Linkin Park or Chester, which is a highly delicate subject, we would still harbor personal sentiments regarding the manner in which we would depict that. In my opinion, that is an unequivocal no. “That’s not my thing.”
